Police Officer Ryan Brown has served the members of the LVPPA as a director on the Board representing the Spring Valley Area Command for over five years.

Ryan recently promoted to detective, which will require him to leave his position at SVAC.

Ryan was recognized by the Board of Directors and was presented with a plaque by President Steve Grammas on behalf of a grateful association.

Congrats, Detective Brown. We appreciate your service to the members of this association and our community.

On January 15, 2025, Sergeant Mark Butler of the Navasota (TX) Police Department was killed in the line of duty.

Sergeant Butler was engaged in a vehicle pursuit of a fraud suspect who was traveling the wrong way on a highway. Butler intentionally placed his patrol car in the path of the suspect to prevent her from colliding with oncoming traffic.

Mark was 34 years old and had been a cop for four years. He also served our nation in the United States Army. He is survived by his wife and children.

The LVPPA Executive Board was privileged to recently attend the grand opening of ProTeam Tactical Performance’s newest facility right here in Las Vegas.

This facility is the first of its kind in this region. It was designed and built to exclusively meet the health and wellness needs of first responders.

Las Vegas Metro Police Sheriff Kevin McMahill and local community leaders, to include Las Vegas City Councilwoman Victoria Seaman, were present for the ribbon-cutting ceremony last week.

Some of the services offered are state-of-the-art recovery equipment, injury rehabilitation programs tailored for first responders and performance solutions inspired by professional sports.

This new facility provides our officers and other first responders with unparalleled tools to recover from injuries, maintain high performance and continue serving our community at the highest level.

Located in Las Vegas, this facility is a game-changer for first responder health and wellness in Southern Nevada.
