A dog named Gizmo is being credit for saving his family from a fire on Monday morning.
It happened at a residence on Philomena Street near Alexander Road and Hualapai Way.
The fire started around 2:30 a.m. The family was awakened by Gizmo’s barking and was able to escape safely.
The fire appears to have started in the garage. The car inside was destroyed. A neighbor says that they heard explosions and many of the windows in the house are blown out.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
