The men and women of the LVPPA extend their heartfelt condolences to the families, friends and colleagues of our Florida brothers in blue, Kissimmee P.D. Officer Matthew Baxter, who was shot and killed on Friday, August 18, and Sergeant Sam Howard, who was shot and died the following day. Both leave behind wives and children (Officer Baxter had four, Sergeant Howard one). Thank you to the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office for their quick work in locating and arresting the suspect.
We also pray for the full recovery of the Jacksonville and Pennsylvania State troopers who were injured in separate incidents on Friday.
Disturbingly, reports are emerging that the suspect in the Kissimmee shootings is a former Marine.
