A day of firsts!
Today was graduation day for 31 new officers from LVMPD Academy class 02-2017.
The first graduate at today’s ceremony marked the 5,000th officer to have a badge pinned on them since the agency’s creation in 1973.
Today’s graduating class is also the first Academy to be conducted on swing shift, from noon to 10 p.m.
