Executive Orders Surrounding Immigration Laws Hasn’t Changed Metro’s Policy

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is one of 32 in the country participating in the 287g program, which allows officers to enforce federal immigration laws. However, the program is only in effect at the Clark County Detention Center.

LVPPA President Grammas reaffirmed in this local news story that police officers aren’t out on the streets, targeting the undocumented community. “Don’t be afraid to come forward if you’re a victim or a witness to crime because you’re fearing that you’re going to be deported,” he said.
