The men and women of the LVPPA send our condolences this morning to our colleagues in California. CHP Motor Officer Lucas F. Chellew, an 8-year veteran of the agency, died yesterday from injuries suffered in a crash during a high-speed chase in south Sacramento. He leaves behind a wife and two children.

Officer Chellew’s father is a retired captain and commander of the CHP’s North Sacramento area office, and his sister is also a CHP officer. Please keep the family in your thoughts and prayers.
