National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day has taken on even more meaning today with the recent passing of North Las Vegas P.D. Detective Chad Parque and now officers in Florida.
Orlando P.D. Master Sergeant Debra Clayton was shot this morning by a murder suspect when she tried to detain him. Master Sergeant Clayton was one of the first officers to respond to the Pulse nightclub shooting last June. A second officer with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office was killed in the effort to capture the suspect. We hope that the suspect is quickly taken into custody with no further loss of life.
The men and women of the LVPPA express their deepest condolences to everyone affected by these tragedies. Our hearts go out to these brave officers’ families and their colleagues at North Las Vegas P.D., Orlando P.D. and Orange County Sheriff’s Office.
Please show your appreciation for the officers who protect you day in and day out, at great personal risk.
