Officers in Texas have come up with a unique way to get drivers into the giving mood
GODLEY, Texas — Officers in Texas have come up with a unique way to get drivers into the giving mood during the holiday season.
As a part of the Godley Police Department’s annual “Tix for Tots” drive, officers will give stopped drivers a warning and a blue piece of paper, according to the department’s Facebook.
The paper asks drivers to voluntarily donate a new, unwrapped toy for the drive.
“We as a department understand the hardship some in our community endure, and the holiday season just compounds on those worries, and burdens,” the department wrote. “This program is a way for you and us to give back.”
The department said they welcome the toy donations even if drivers did not receive a warning.
