PPA and PMSA have filed a joint lawsuit against the Department, under the federal Civil Rights statute, seeking an injunction prohibiting the enforcement of SB 241. The new law, commonly referred to as the Union Busting Legislation, has been enforced by the Department against PPACE. The Sheriff demanded that the civilian union pay cash to the Department for their full time representatives. The Sheriff is likely to take a similar stance against PPA and PMSA when their collective bargaining agreements expire next year.
